Class Descriptions

BeStong2purePOWER yoga offers classes in the Power Vinyasa Yoga style, linking breath and movement. It is a dynamic, flowing practice which cultivates strength, flexibility, balance, focus and endurance. It tones and sculpts the entire body allowing for rapid results. All classes are taught in a heated room, approximately 90-95 degrees with added humidity to encourage sweating, detoxification and cleansing of the entire body! Classes are open to all levels of experience. Students are encouraged to listen to the inner wisdom of their bodies, progressing at a pace that is appropriate and respectful. Come and experience this powerful, transforming practice for yourself!

A powerful, dynamic & sweaty all levels class designed to challenge, awaken, detoxify & purify every system, muscle and tissue of the body. This energetic flow style class guides students towards greater awareness of self, personal transformation and empowerment. It will sculpt, tone and condition both your body and mind. This class is appropriate for all levels. Modifications and variations are encouraged to support and accommodate individual needs and experience levels. These classes are 60 or 75 mins.

POWERyoga  -basics-
A dynamic & flowing class that moves at a slightly slower pace with more emphasis on the basic postures and alignment to build strength, flexibility, balance and presence of mind. These classes are 60 mins.

POWERyoga -core-
POWERyoga -core- is our same All Levels POWERyoga class with an additional emphasis and focus on core strength and stability. Incorporating twists, balance work, core and abdominal integration you will learn how to tune into your core, the center of your being, from which you flow in life. This area of our bodies is often one of the most disliked areas and for good reasons. It is this area that the 3rd chakra resides, often referred to as our power house, where our truth abides. From here our personal power and strength flow. Most often we are not tuned into our true potential and strength. In this class we explore our individual power as we develop this all important area of our bodies. Core is also one of the 5 Pillars of Baptiste Power Vinyasa. It is here we develop true, real-life strength and stability. These classes are 60 or  75 mins.

POWERsculpt -yoga-
POWERsculpt yoga is a fusion blend of POWERyoga and Body Sculpting! Incorporating light-weight hand weights you will strengthen and tone while sculpting and shaping every part of your body! This class incorporates elements of a flowing POWERyoga class with emphasis on body sculpting, cardio and resistance training! In this all levels class you will build muscle, burn fat, improve flexibility, balance and healthy bone density as you shape and tone your body from head to toe! You will leave feeling stronger, more flexible and rejuvenated! POWERsculpt yoga is a great compliment to your regular POWERyoga or POWERpilates practice! These classes are 60 mins.

POWERpilates is a high energy, high intensity full-body workout that sculpts and tones your body from head to toe! As you develop lean muscle and lose unwanted fat, this low impact, POWERpilates class will challenge you on every level. Set to fun, upbeat tunes, POWERpilates integrates principles of Pilates, low-impact, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and Tabata training techniques in a heated room to encourage sweating, detoxification and fat loss. Come to strengthen core, improve overall muscle tone, increase flexibility and balance; stay for amazing results! You are stronger then you know! These classes are 60 mins.

POWERpilates -basics-
Our same high energy, full-body workout that will sculpt and tone your body from head to toe at a slightly slower pace! This class will pay greater attention to form and alignment while still challenging you on every level! Expect this fun, upbeat class to incorporate great music, great energy and a great workout as you develop lean muscle and lose unwanted fat. POWERpilates - basics incorporates principles of Pilates, High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and Tabata training techniques in a heated room to encourage sweating, detoxification and fat loss. A great place to start or focus on your form! Challenging but doable! This class is 60 mins.

POWERpilates -express-
Our same great high energy, full-body workout that will sculpt and tone your body from head to toe in a condensed power-packed 45 minutes to get you in and out! This class is 60 mins. and offered Saturday mornings at 7 am.

POWER26 is an all levels class based on the traditional 26 asanas of a hot 26 class. This dynamic series is designed to strengthen and tone every muscle, organ, gland and system of the body as you improve flexibility and strength! Expect to be challenged, have fun and explore the more advanced expressions of this traditional series to empower vibrant health, wellbeing and mental clarity! These classes are 60 mins.

The softer side to Power! Enjoy an hour long, deep, juicy release Monday and Wednesday evenings! These classes are a vinyasa/yin fusion style class blending a slow-moving flow to prepare the body for long, deep holds. You will release tension, facilitate opening in every area and work deep into connective tissue. These longer holds, accompanied by the breath, allow you to integrate body, mind and soul as you let go and release deeply. This class is ideal for athletes and a perfect balance to our more vigorous POWERyoga classes. These classes are 60 min.  


Power Yoga Foundations Series; An Introduction to Power Yoga -- Now Offered as Weekend Workshops! See Introduction To POWERyoga!
A fantastic way to begin your yoga practice, this two week series (4 classes total) is designed for students new to yoga, Power Yoga or just wanting a refresher in the basics. It focuses on the essential building blocks of the practice and the 5 pillars of the Baptists Power Vinyasa Method. Each class builds upon the prior class over a 2 week period, comprising the 4 class commitment. It will encompass approximately 10% discussion time, 20% alignment and posture clinic and 70% practice time with the class moving towards a full practice by class 4.

Our Power Yoga Foundations Series will prepare you to step confidently into a regular Power Yoga practice with a sense of confidence and familiarity of terminology, sequencing and body awareness. This workshop style class is moderately heated to prepare you for a regular heated practice.

Power Yoga Foundations Series will cover

  • What is POWERyoga
  • The 5 Pillars of Baptiste Power Vinyasa Method
  • How to cultivate a sustainable practice
  • A discussion of the breath and its role in your practice
  • Pose-by-pose demonstration and then your own exploration with personal attention to your alignment and specific needs and or modifications.
  • By class 4 a complete practice!

How to Prepare

  • Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to fill out any necessary paperwork and to get yourself settled before the start of class.
  • Wear comfortable workout attire
  • Avoid eating anything heavy at least 1 hour before class
  • Bring a mat, a practice towel, water and if you'd like a notebook and pen. Mat and towel (both practice and shower) rentals are available at the studio as well as water, juice and snacks.
  • Bring a change of clothes for after your practice
